Gary Samuel Reed, 52, of Waldorf, MD died of a long illness on December 14, 2017.

Upon completing high school at 18 years old, Gary joined the United States Air Force. For 34 years he was active military and while in service Gary was President Bill Clinton’s and President George W. Bush’s communication man for each president’s full term. He held a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Maryland, College Park. He also studied Procurement and Acquisitions as part of a Master’s degree program at Webster University.

He lived a life of service in the military and also was a philanthropist at heart as he loved helping others around him. He was a great husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Gary was a very supportive father in his active children’s life. He loved being their father and helping them in their lives. He loved to hunt, fish and do yard work. He was a Baptist by faith.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Sanghui Choi Reed; son, Phillip Samuel Reed and daughter, Tiffany Lynn Reed. Also surviving is father, Grafton “Sam” Reed; mother Nina “Louise” Boone; sister Rebecca Reed; nephews, Zack Reed, Chad Reed and Clayton Shaver; niece, Maranda Shaver; and stepfather, Charles Boone.

Preceding Gary in death are his brother, Greg Reed; nephew, Dakota Reed; and stepmother, Mina Kay Dobbins.
