Hi, Cynthia. I’m a former classmate of Ben’s from Medical College of Virginia. I’m a hospital administrator in Rocky Mount, VA. Alan Larson called me to tell me about Ben’s passing. I will always remember Ben as one of our sharpest students, always upbeat and positive and a great encourager. God bless you and your family during this difficult time and please know that we are praying for you. God bless you. Bill Jacobsen

My condolences to you, I worked at Braxton Memorial Hospital years ago, I left in 2010. Ben was a good Christian man and leader of our hospital and community. We all look forward to the day when we can be at home with our Lord, but sad to think about the loved ones we are leaving. My husband has told me to be happy when he goes , because he will be home, at peace, no pain, and no sorrow. Peace and comfort to you.

Cynthia and Betsy, I am so sorry to hear about Ben. I will always remember his upbeat attitude, and his ability to always make those around him laugh and have a good time. I will never forget the times we all spent together in Deltaville at Stove Point and the annual family fishing trips out into the Bay. Love to you all, Quinton

Cynthia, It is very likely we have met as I have attended a number of hospital related meetings with Ben over the years. My family was out of town last week and came back to hear this difficult news. Beth and I are sincerely sorry for your loss. I thought a lot of Ben and remember when he first came to Braxton County. At the time, I was the CEO at Grafton City Hospital so we had a number of "hospital issues" in common. Again, Beth and I are thinking of you and your family at this most difficult time.

Cynthia, I hope you remember who I am. My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved husband. He sounds like a remarkable man. I think of you, your mom and Brett often. It has been many years since I last saw you. I lift you and the entire family to the Lord in prayer for comfort. Rest in His loving arms now and when all is over and you have time to think. He loves you and remember, it isn't goodbye, it's 'see you soon, Ben'. God bless all of you. Debbie McDaniels Young Grafton, WV

I had the opportunity to work with Ben for several years during his tenure as a Board Member of the WV State Board of Examiners for LPNs. When I was the Executive Director I truly appreciated Ben’s dedication to the Board and to the welfare of the citizens of WV. He was a thoughtful, kind and honest man and my sincere condolences go to his family, friends and community. He will be greatly missed. God bless.

Our deepest condolences in the loss of your beloved one. Our Heavenly Father is always there to comfort us during this difficult time. Psalms 23 "God is my Shepherd. I will lack nothing. In grassy pastures he makes me lie down; He leads me to well-watered resting -places. May these scriptures bring comfort at this time of bereavement. View the Bible on the J.W.Org Official website.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ben's family at this time. He always had a smile at work and always took the time to say hello and how are you doing. It meant a lot to know he cared about the work I was doing. He had a special coincidence with my husband Steve, who was also an Eagle Scout, and Order of the Arrow. I am sure he will be greatly missed.
