Services for Barbara will be held at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home in Gassaway, West Virginia.  Friends and Family may call Monday, October 22, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The Memorial Service for Barbara will be 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 followed by interment at Barker Ridge Cemetery.  There will be a Celebration of Life dinner for all family and friends at the Chapel Volunteer Fire Department following the burial.

Barbara Lynn (Knight) Davis, age 71, of Sutton, West Virginia, passed away at her home Saturday, October 20, 2018 after a long illness.

Barbara was born August 28, 1947 in Gassaway, West Virginia.¬† She was the daughter of the late Charles ‚ÄúBob‚ÄĚ and Edith Faye Knight.¬† She grew up in Pratt, West Virginia and graduated from East Bank High School in 1965.¬† Barbara went on to attend the C&O School of Nursing in Clifton Forge, Virginia.¬† Following graduation in 1968, Barbara began her nursing career in Charleston, West Virginia.¬† Her career took her to Miami, Florida and Baltimore, Maryland before she returned and settled on a farm in Braxton County with her parents and her loving husband of 43 years, Argyle Garry Davis.¬† Barbara provided nursing care for the Braxton County community, working for Braxton Memorial Hospital, Dr. Earl Fisher, and the State of West Virginia‚Äôs Early Childhood Development and Children with Special Healthcare Needs programs.¬† Barbara retired from the State of West Virginia and shared the remainder of her time with Garry, her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Faye Knight and Charles Robert Knight.  She is survived by her husband, Argyle Garry Davis and her daughters, Jennifer Grindo (husband, Daniel Grindo) and Michele Winemiller (husband, Andrew Winemiller).  Barbara felt truly blessed to be called Gigi by her five grandchildren, Dominic (15) Addison (12) and Bianca Grindo (9) and Isaac (11) and Piper (6) Winemiller.  Barbara is also survived by her sister, Linda Gordon of Covington, Virginia.
